On Wednesday, 4 December, 2013, Jazz Notes played at the opening of the Mayoral Art Exhibition at the Maroondah Art Gallery.
The exhibition was presented by the Croydon Branch of the Bone Marrow Institute to raise funds for research into leukaemia and associated cancers.
We were delighted when so many people took the trouble to tell us how much they enjoyed the music! (We enjoyed it, too!)

It was about 4:30 that we discovered we were expected to play at Kelly’s in Olinda at 7 but we were set up – just in time.
Jan Blake stepped in for the vocals, bringing a stack of charts.
The restaurant was full and there was good engagement with the band – it was pretty relaxed and we all had fun (including the person who was controlling the colour of the lights)!
By the end, Jan was taking requests from the audience.

Last time we played at Vesbar, we played as an instrumental trio (Ann, Kevin and Andrew).
This time, we were joined by Juliane Pasternak and the musical arrangements from a year ago came together well: the ‘joint was jumping’!

On 16 September, the Hon. Ryan Smith MP opened the renovated Warrandyte Community Centre.
The crowd braved the miserable weather and was rewarded by the delightful, new building, wine and canapés and, of course, treated to the music of Jazz Notes!

Last Sunday, Jazz Notes played the afternoon at the Burrinja Café in Upwey.
Great fun – thanks to the enthusiastic audience, who came and stayed!
The management must have liked us because they’ve invited us back – although their calendar’s pretty full for this year.
